From September 2020, the traditional GDL and LPC training route for solicitors will be replaced with the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). One of the aims of the new exam is to make sure that all solicitors are trained to the same professional standard and those part-way through their training will have a choice over which route to follow.
