Ideas4careers is a Matrix accredited career development consultancy providing high quality career guidance, coaching and bespoke activities and events for schools enabling them to fulfil the Careers Statutory Guidance and Gatsby Benchmarks.
Through a team of over 20 dedicated career and employability advisers we offer a high standard of career guidance and staff consultancy, supporting over 50 schools across the East Midlands, West Midlands and Norfolk to fulfil the new Careers Strategy. All our careers advisers are professionally trained to level 6/7 and registered members of the Career Development Institute (CDI).
Founded by Michelle Taylor in 2012 following a long-established career in career development, the company has gone from strength to strength, broadening its service offer to support Careers Leaders, successfully delivering on numerous local and regional contracts. Our flexible approach means that schools can find a solution that suits the needs of their students, delivering good value for high quality services.
Strategic partnerships include working with academy trusts, employers, universities, Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC), local enterprise partnerships such as D2N2 , as well as local district councils. Recent programmes include Ambitious in Mansfield & Ashfield, Gedling Borough Council Secondary Schools Employability Programme, Careers Local ESF initiative, DANCOP (Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Collaborative Outreach Programme) and many more bespoke programmes for schools.
We recognise the positive impact that local employers can have on students in school activities and we link closely with over 150 employers from a wide range of sectors to help support our employability programmes. Local employers who regularly support our activities include: GF Tomlinson, Lindhurst Engineering, NHS, DWP, Rolls Royce, HSBC, Bombardier, Mansfield Palace Theatre, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet and Confetti Studios.
The wide range of skills and expertise in the team allows us to support schools with staff development activities, information sharing and consultancy including for the Quality in Careers Standard. Our annual Careers Conference is always a huge success and enables teachers, Careers Leaders and advisers to network and reflect on the current situation. This year we were delighted to welcome David Andrews OBE to our conference for his Careers Leader Masterclasses.
Ideas4Careers organises a wide range of exciting CPD (Continuous Professional Development) opportunities for teachers, careers advisers and other education professionals. This professional development largely focuses on events or individual placements with business and industry. These activities support a range of needs, from curriculum development to improving careers provision.
