Could you become a business ambassador volunteer?

speed networking with studentsWe’re currently looking for people to work as business ambassador volunteers with us on our employability activities in schools and colleges.

We are working in over 50 schools across the East Midlands and beyond, and our volunteers – who give up just a few hours from time to time – usually find their time spent with the students extremely rewarding.

The programmes that we deliver cover a range of fun activities including speed networking (a little bit like speed dating but where each volunteer spends a few minutes with a small group of students talking about their job and answering questions), CV writing support, The Apprentice Challenge (learning about entrepreneurial skills – a practical variation on The Apprentice) and Know Your Potential Employer where students learn about the skills needed to be successful in work.

As well as helping young people to learn about job roles they may not have previously considered and find out which skills are important in the workplace, volunteers can also benefit by discovering the qualities that young people have. These activities can also help organisations to promote themselves to potential new employees and the wider community.

If you think this is something you’d like to consider, you can learn more about what makes a good business ambassador on our volunteer pages.
