This essential one-day conference, hosted by Idea4Careers will give the necessary training, knowledge and tools to meet the new statutory guidance and develop an effective and powerful careers curriculum aligned with the government’s new Careers Strategy and actions to embed the role of Careers Leadership.

Meet other colleagues from schools across the region over morning activities and lunch, providing an opportunity to network, share experience, best practice and lessons learned.
How is the day structured?
Keynote address from leading careers education expert David Andrews OBE – who is currently delivering training on the leadership and management of careers work in schools and colleges – which will provide an overview of the implications arising from the new Careers Strategy and Statutory Guidance including the Gatsby benchmarks.
David will then lead and facilitate two interactive masterclasses:
Masterclass 1 Reviewing current policy and practice and how prepared your school or college is for the new strategy
Masterclass 2 What is good careers leadership in school? Reviewing your school’s or college’s current arrangements for careers leadership and identifying areas for improvement and some practical tips.
The afternoon session will give you opportunities to hear the latest developments from: The Careers and Enterprise Company; hear how one Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school achieved a national Quality in Careers Award through working in partnership with their Enterprise Adviser; implications following the creation of Nottingham College on local students; and much more.
